Aluminum I-Beam Suppliers
Aluminum I-beams are extruded profiles made of 6060 alloys. Weldable and heat treatable, they are suitable for the most various applications as long as they require strength and corrosion resistance. At Profall we supply aluminum I-beams while dealing also with H sections and several other extruded products, all available in a fully customized way and with the tiniest dimensional tolerances as well.
Aluminum I-beams are products characterized by two horizontal flat edges that form the shape of the letter “I.” They are commonly used for structural purposes to provide support for buildings and structures, but also for framing for trailers, cars, trains, buses, and more.
In our catalog, you will find at least seven different types of aluminum I-beams, but be aware that all of them can be customized according to the final application.
In addition, if you don’t find what you are looking for in the table above, you can ask for a 100% custom supply of I-beams, designed and manufactured based on your needs and wants.
Are you looking for aluminum I-beams suppliers?
Why choosing a supply of I-beams in aluminum
The main feature of I-beam consists in the fact that their vertical part, commonly called “web”, can resist shear forces, while the flat edges resist the bending caused by the beam. That is the reason why they are so often used for structural purposes.
In this sense, choosing a supply of aluminum I-beams instead of other materials provides several advantages like:
- High strength-to-weight ratio – they can be used also in the cases when a lighter material may be more useful
- High resistance to corrosion – I-beams can be used in caustic or corrosive environments
- Easy weldability and machinability
- Cost-effectiveness – they are cheaper than stainless steel while still having some of the strength of that material

The aluminum alloys we use to manufacture I-beams
These extruded profiles are usually made from aluminum alloys belonging to the 6060 series. The reason is quite simple: this family of alloys is characterized by ease of processing and welding and is best used for customized extrusions employed in many industrial and structural uses.
More in details, we use the 6060 series of alloys to make and supply aluminum I-beams because they offer:
- Easy weldability
- Aptitude for decorative, protective, and thick anodic oxidation
- High resistance to corrosion
- Excellent anodizability

I-beams or H-beams?
At Profall we work as I-beam suppliers as well as H-beams.
The thing is that I-beams resemble more the shape of the letter “I”, while H-beams are more similar to the letter “H”. Which means that the latter have a thicker web that makes them slightly stronger and heavier than the former.
However, both of them are also simply referred to as aluminum beams and the terms “I-beams” and “H-beams” are used interchangeably most of the time.
